It was our first time in Hawaii and we decided to take the Road to Hana drive --- we had no idea what was in store for us. It's a beautiful drive to Hana with many opportunities to pull over and enjoy the view and waterfalls. Past Hana, heading to the Piilani Highway, was a different story, though. The scenery was still there, but the road was very narrow -- for two cars to drive by each other -- and mostly unpaved. We have to admit, it was a bit nerve-racking -- hoping another car wouldn't come around the corner, going the opposite direction. But we still were able to stop and enjoy the ocean scenery, and even found a cool, old church along the way.

This & That Northwest Goes to New Mexico Series Join us as National Park Guide, Len Scheel, gives us a history behind the Bandalier National Monument.

It was one of those cold yet sunny days in the Pacific Northwest, and we decided to walk around Marymoore Park in Redmond, WA.

This was our first time at the conservatory located in Tacoma, WA. Not too big of an area but lots of neat flowers and fish to be seen.

This and That Northwest goes to New Mexico Series We drove up to Santa Fe from Albuquerque, and once there, we could tell it was a place we would enjoy - from the many historic churches to the variety of shops and restaurants. One of the historic churches we visited was Our Lady of Guadalupe. That's where we met Gayle Delgado, a shop attendant. She spent some time with us and shared the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We finally made it to Seaside, Oregon. The Pacific Northwest weather cooperated on this day, so we took out the DJI 4 Pro drone to get an aerial view of the beach front. We had a little more time to spend at Alki Beach the next day. We stopped to "smell the roses", observe the simple things; grass being watered on a hot day, a small docked boat swaying in the water, bikes parked in the sun waiting to be rented; the usual boats, kayaks and ferries going by, a dog and his owner running along the low tide beach, a gentleman using his metal detector to find lost treasures and lastly, tugboats doing their thing.
