The Washington State Ferries offer a scenic and relaxing ride to get to Washington’s western regions, the alternative to having to drive around thru Tacoma. Service can take you to Vashon Island on the southside to Whidbey Island in the north, and a few routes in between — Southworth, Bremerton, Bainbridge Island, Kingston, and Clinton. The fare varies by season, with summer being the most expensive(around $22) and the crossing time varies from 20 minutes to 1 hr, depending on the route.
